IntroductionIn higher vertebrates, the main population of forebrain GnRH1 neurons originate in the embryonic olfactory placode. Early migration of GnRH neurons in mice - from the nasal placode into the nasal mesenchyme - depends on NELF (nasal embryonic LHRH factor).
